Speaking during a visit to Pakistan State Oil (PSO) headquarters in Karachi on Friday, Malik said the government would support efforts to strengthen the country’s fuel supply system and protect consumers and economic stability.

The minister reviewed PSO’s operations and plans, with discussions focusing on fuel procurement, supply diversification, storage capacity and the use of digital systems.

Malik said Pakistan needs stronger storage infrastructure and more resilient supply chains to deal with disruptions in international markets and key shipping routes.

He also stressed faster digitization and automation across the energy sector, along with improvements in customer services.

The minister praised PSO for maintaining an uninterrupted fuel supply across the country despite global geopolitical and supply challenges.

He said the government and energy companies must work together to build a more reliable and modern energy system for Pakistan.
