## Repair of Federal Trunk Main

The Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) announced the completion of repair and rehabilitation works on a 24‑inch Federal Trunk Main (FTM) water pipeline that runs from Habib Bank Chowrangi through the Post Office area to Gulbai.

## Issue and Response

Complaints had been received that sewage water was mixing with the pipeline that supplies water from the C Pump Pumping Station to the Gulbai Pumping Station. Acting on the instructions of KWSC Chief Executive Officer Ahmed Ali Siddiqui, technical and field teams were quickly mobilised. Superintending Engineer Tanveer Ahmed Sheikh led a detailed inspection, identified the point of ingress, cleaned the line, carried out repairs and restored the pipeline.

## Quality Assurance and Restoration

After the repair, water quality tests were performed and confirmed that the supply met safety standards. Following satisfactory results, normal water service was resumed for the affected localities.

## KWSC Statement

KWSC highlighted that the swift intervention resolved the contamination problem and reinstated reliable water supply for residents in the area.
