## Governor’s Address at NED Convocation

Sindh Governor and NED University Chancellor, Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi, addressed the 35th convocation of NED University of Engineering and Technology, urging the fresh graduates to apply their knowledge, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit to transform Pakistan’s economy and enhance its global technology standing.

## Vision for IT Exports

Hashmi highlighted the Prime Minister’s target of raising Pakistan’s IT exports beyond USD 25 billion by 2030, emphasizing that the country’s youth are pivotal to achieving this goal. He stressed that education should go beyond degrees, urging graduates to turn research and innovation into practical solutions.

## Call for Entrepreneurship

The governor encouraged graduates to shift from a job‑seeking mindset to becoming job creators. He pointed to the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, which offers financial support through the Digital Youth Hub for young entrepreneurs, and urged graduates to capitalize on these resources.

## Emphasis on Continuous Learning

Hashmi warned that the rapidly evolving global economy demands continuous learning and adaptation. He advised graduates to stay updated on emerging technologies and to align personal success with societal progress.

## Convocation Highlights

The ceremony saw 40 PhD degrees, 2,262 undergraduate degrees, and 881 master’s degrees awarded. Gold medals were presented to 34 top performers, and merit certificates to second and third place students. Distinguished guests, including the founder of the Maan Jee Endowment Fund, attended the event.
