Story
JS Global Capital Limited

The PSX remained under pressure, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index declining by 699 points (-0.40%) to close at 171,943. Market sentiment remained cautious throughout the trading day due to renewed regional geopolitical tensions, with selling pressure accelerating towards the closing hours.
According to SBP data released in the report, workers' remittances for Aug-26 grew by 17% YoY to reach US$ 3,656 million (US$ 3.66 bn), reflecting a 1% MoM increase. Cumulatively for 2MFY27, inflows reached US$ 7,287 million, up 15% YoY compared to US$ 6,353 million in 2MFY26.
Strong remittance inflows (+17% YoY) provide crucial support to the external account balance and Pakistani Rupee stability. While short-term market performance may face resistance due to regional geopolitical noise, long-term macroeconomic fundamentals remain supported by sustained remittance momentum.
